Collection consists of: 18 letters from Emma Goldman to Virginia (and Lee) Hersch, the majority sent from "Bon Esprit" in St. Tropez, France, chronicling news of mutual friends, reports on travels, writings, and concerns about Berkman; 5 letters from Alexander Berkman to Virginia (and Lee) Hersch, sent from Nice, France, containing discussions of his political and philosophical ideas and personal matters. Also included: an inscribed copy (to Virginia Hersch) of Goldman's "Voltairine de Cleyre;" and a 20-page brochure entitled "Alexander Berkman Sixtieth Birthday Celebration," which includes a biographical sketch by Henry Asberg and five letters of appreciation.
